  3. Commons 1962 and served in the cabinet of
  4. Pierre Trudeau until resigning 1975. He
  5. succeeded Trudeau as party leader and prime
  6. minister 1984, but lost the 1984 and 1988
  7. elections. Turner resigned as leader 1989,
  8. and returned to his law practice. He was
  9. replaced as Liberal Party chief by Herbert
  10. Gray in Feb 1990.
